Cohort trends in test suites

A company-wide coverage score is a handshake number. It greets executives and then sits quietly while the real work happens in suite families: API contract tests, mobile smoke, ledger regression, and the slow UI path nobody wants to own.

Define cohorts by ownership and risk

Ownership without risk is politics; risk without ownership is fog. Pair them. In studio workshops we sketch two axes on paper before touching a BI tool. The sketch prevents dashboards from inventing cohorts that look neat and mean nothing.

Watch slope, not absolute height

A suite sitting at 62% with a gentle upward slope after instrumentation work can be healthier than a flat 91% that nobody trusts. Application analytics for testing coverage insights rewards attention to direction and variance across releases.

Brief with three cohorts max

Stakeholders glaze when you present twelve lines. Choose three that map to the release narrative. Keep the rest for the working group. Clarity is a kindness.
